Today I thought I would share with you some of my favourite photographs I have taken.
The first one up is the ‘Lion’, a photograph taken in the room called William’s Bed Chamber at Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire. It is a fireplace ornament, I just love the way the light catches all the detail and ridges of the lions head along with the blur and blackness of the background.
The next one is the ‘Feather’, a photo I took on my back garden whilst trying out my new macro lens. I happened to spot the feather complete with dew in the grass, and thought it would be the ideal subject!
The ‘Star Chamber’ picture is one where I was in the right place at the right time. It was early evening in the Star Chamber at Bolsover Castle when I spotted how the light was being cast. I only had my phone on me so I quickly took the picture and was extremely pleased with the resulting photo.
Another fireplace feature at Bolsover Castle, I just love how the black and white combined with the focus and light create such a striking image.
On this one I just love how the picture draws your eyes down.
I’ll end on this one…it was just a bit of fun, a kind of arty photo which you see for sale as a canvas to put on your wall! The sculpture is a Barbara Hepworth, accompanied by a traffic cone I decided to keep in it’s striking red colour.
